Collective Arts Brewing is known for pairing craft beer with bold visual artwork. For this concept, I created an illustrated can design that leaned into a surreal sci fi world, combining hand drawn character artwork, expressive color, and a cinematic product scene to bring the packaging to life.

An illustrated can concept with a cinematic edge
The project started as a hand drawn illustration built around a strange, otherworldly creature and a fictional beer concept. The goal was to create something that felt expressive, weird, and visually memorable while still working within the format of a production ready can label.
The artwork was developed with bold contrast, layered texture, and bright accent colors to help the can stand out. The final design was then mocked up in a dramatic sci fi scene, giving the concept a stronger sense of atmosphere and story.

From sketchbook to packaged concept
The illustration began in my sketchbook before being refined digitally and adapted into a can label. I focused on creating a design that felt handmade and energetic, while still having enough structure to work as a real packaging piece.
Once the label direction was complete, I built a product mockup that placed the can inside a cinematic world. The scene helped push the concept beyond a flat label and showed how the packaging could feel as part of a larger campaign or visual story.

A bold package design built to stand out
The final concept combines illustration, packaging, and art direction into a visual system that feels strange, energetic, and shelf ready. It shows how a can design can become more than packaging by giving the product a distinct world, mood, and personality.
