Brand Development & Visual Identity
St. Leonard’s Community Chaplaincy needed a logo that reflected their work with ex-offenders, families, chaplains, and communities affected by crime. The identity needed to feel supportive, approachable, and rooted in values like friendship, restorative justice, community, presence, and care.

A thoughtful identity for community support
St. Leonard’s Community Chaplaincy is a faith based network of chaplains focused on building safer and more connected communities. Their work centers around walking alongside ex offenders, supporting families, and helping communities move toward restoration.
The goal was to create a mark that felt human, trustworthy, and meaningful without becoming overly complex. The final direction combined a dove and handshake, representing peace, restorative justice, friendship, and support.
Exploring symbols of trust and restoration
The process began with research into the organization, their audience, and the values they wanted the identity to communicate. From there, I explored a range of thumbnail sketches focused on connection, guidance, peace, and community.
The selected concept used simple symbolism to communicate the heart of the organization. The handshake represents support and friendship, while the dove brings in a sense of peace, restoration, and hope.

A clean and meaningful logo system
The final logo gave St. Leonard’s Community Chaplaincy a clean, versatile identity that could work across print materials, presentations, letterhead, business cards, and community outreach pieces.
The result was a simple mark with a clear message, built to reflect the organization’s mission and values in a warm, approachable way.
